You know how it goes: you're scrolling TikTok or Instagram, see an amazing-looking restaurant, and think "I need to go there." Then you save the video, forget about it, and never find it again.

SpotSavor fixes that. It's a Spot Saver for restaurants - but since it's food, we call it Savor.

How It Works

  1. Share a link or screenshot - Paste a TikTok/Instagram link, or share a screenshot directly to the app
  2. AI extracts the details - The app strips redirects, pulls metadata, and identifies the restaurant
  3. Auto-generated blurb - Get a quick summary of what makes the place special
  4. Added to your map - The restaurant gets pinned with all the context you need

No more "what was that taco place from that video?" moments.

The Technical Fun

The redirect stripping was a fun challenge. TikTok and Instagram links are wrapped in multiple layers of tracking redirects. The app follows the chain to get to the actual content, then extracts the metadata.

For screenshots, it uses vision AI to read the text and identify restaurant names, locations, and what dish was featured.

Want to share your restaurant list with friends who don't have the app? Export your list from SpotSavor and view it in the browser with the Web List Viewer.

The viewer shows all your spots on an interactive map, lets you search and filter by tags, and provides directions to each restaurant. It's a great way to share your food discoveries with anyone.
